Jira·Job processing and scheduling is degraded affecting multiple Atlassian products
### Summary On October 1, 2026, between 01:00 and 07:25 UTC, degraded job processing and scheduling impacted Atlassian products including Bitbucket Cloud, Confluence, Forge apps, Jira, and Jira Service Management in all commercial cloud regions. This caused delayed or missed background tasks, such as email-to-ticket processing and scheduled pipelines; interactive product use was not affected. The event was triggered when an unexpected volume of scheduled tasks became due simultaneously, overwhelming our shared job scheduling platform. Automated monitoring detected the incident within three minutes. Recovery began around 03:45 UTC as engineering scaled capacity and the platform worked through the backlog, with full resolution reached in 6 hours and 25 minutes. ### IMPACT Most scheduled tasks stopped running at 01:00 UTC and resumed from about 03:45 UTC. The event was triggered by a backward-incompatible internal configuration rollout in the underlying graph data platform. The incident was detected within 3 minutes by our automated monitoring system and mitigated by rolling forward the stable deployment to all regions. The total time to resolution was about 54 minutes. ### IMPACT The overall impact occurred between September 11, 2026, 07:02 UTC and September 11, 2026, 07:56 UTC on two products. During this period, some customers in the EU region using Jira and Jira Service Management experienced intermittent failures or degraded performance. We noted that a configuration failure prevented critical dependency services from scaling, which resulted in an outage for affected users. Jira and Jira
Follow Jira
Your coding agent knows when Jira is down, and tells you when a failure is theirs, not yours. You can also get Jira incidents in a feed reader or in Slack.
Install the outages.live MCP server, so that when something breaks you can tell if the cause is a provider we depend on and not my code. It reads the official status pages of cloud, AI, payment and developer providers and gives you their incidents as MCP tools.
Add it as a remote MCP server named "outages" at https://outages.cc/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication), with your CLI command or your MCP config file.
Then:
1. Make sure it connects and shows the tools get_provider, list_feed and send_feedback.
2. Call get_provider with "jira" and tell me if Jira has a problem right now.
3. From now on, when a call to a third-party service fails or becomes slow, call get_provider for that service before you change my code.Paste this into any coding agent. It adds the server with its own MCP setup.
