[Minor] Issue with Admin Reporting
We recently addressed issues affecting Admin Reports on AI usage reporting. We would like to take the opportunity to further explain these issues and the steps we have taken to keep them from happening in the future. Between 3:30 PM PDT and 7:59 PM PDT on September 3, 2026, ~~—~~ some users may have experienced difficulties while working in Box. During this time, AI Unit usage reports may have shown missing, empty, or otherwise incomplete AI-usage data and related insights. The issue occurred because a third‑party data ingestion service experienced elevated error rates that interrupted ingestion into our reporting pipeline. We were able to resolve the issue after the provider deployed a mitigation, and our teams re-ran previously failing ingestion jobs and rebuilt reporting tables to backfill missing data, restoring report availability. In addition, we will pursue follow-up with the provider and take steps to reduce the likelihood of recurrence. # Analysis Upon learning of the incident

_Notice and disclaimer: Box is providing this preliminary information subject to further review and analysis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the current state and we may update as more information is confirmed._ On October 19, 2026 between 6:44 PM and 8:32 PM PDT, some customers may have experienced degradation when interacting with our Public API, Downloads, and Box Sign. The impact was caused by a focused traffic spike that resulted in increased latencies when accessing some data assets. We mitigated the impact by enabling additional targeted caching to relieve the stress on our datastores. Performance of our services returned to normal levels by 8:32 PM PDT. We are conducting a full engineering postmortem and our overview is subject to change with further analysis and findings. In the event our continuing investigation yields further substantive findings, we may publish additional analysis after the conclusion of the full engineering postmortem. Sincerely, The Box Team

Your coding agent knows when Box is down, and tells you when a failure is theirs, not yours. You can also get Box incidents in a feed reader or in Slack.
Install the outages.live MCP server, so that when something breaks you can tell if the cause is a provider we depend on and not my code. It reads the official status pages of cloud, AI, payment and developer providers and gives you their incidents as MCP tools.
Add it as a remote MCP server named "outages" at https://outages.cc/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication), with your CLI command or your MCP config file.
Then:
1. Make sure it connects and shows the tools get_provider, list_feed and send_feedback.
2. Call get_provider with "box" and tell me if Box has a problem right now.
3. From now on, when a call to a third-party service fails or becomes slow, call get_provider for that service before you change my code.Paste this into any coding agent. It adds the server with its own MCP setup.
